The Role
As Events Officer you will play a key role in the successful delivery of the Town of Port Hedland’s dynamic and diverse events program. Every day will look different as you support the Events Team in the development and coordination of one off and annual projects. You will be required to work with various stakeholders including artists, performers, events consultants, food suppliers and community groups. Within this role, you will provide event management support through being an active on the ground team member assisting with the bump-in and bump out of event infrastructure, equipment and providing great customer service during events. Finally, you will also help to coordinate event related processes such as stallholder applications, database management, purchasing and procurement requirements as well as communicating with project partners and stakeholders.
Our ideal applicant will have excellent communication and computer skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft programs such as Microsoft Work, Excel and Outlook. You will require high level of time management skills, with the ability to problem solve, work autonomously and take initiative. Experience in events or related industries including administrative, planning, and operational experience would be ideal but not essential.
You will be joining the team at an exciting time as the Town embarks on a culture of change with embracing of a wide range of new technologies, a large capitals works program, and a number of other projects that make the Town a desirable place to live and work.

Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:
- National Police Clearance
- Current ‘C’ class drivers license
- Rights to work in Australia
- Valid WA Working with Children Card (or willing to apply)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Physically able to safely move, lift, load and unload objects that are up to 15kg.
