About Position
The City is seeking an Civic Events Officer with experience in the management and delivery of Civic Events to join our team. The successful appointee will be responsible for:
- The coordination and delivery of major corporate, community and Civic Events, which support the City's objectives and community needs, ensuring that all events are safe, operate successfully and meet corporate standards.
- The coordination and delivery of a number of monthly citizenship ceremonies ensuring compliance with the Australian Citizenship Ceremonies Code.
- Supervising contractors, volunteers and casual staff as part of the event delivery, ensuring that events are safe, operates successfully and meet corporate standards.
- Completing routine financial and purchasing in a timely manner and to a required standard to meet operational requirements.
About You
As a collaborative member of the place management team, the position is accountable for the provision of quality and successful Civic Events. The successful appointee must be an adaptable and experienced events professional with a focus on community and creating safe social spaces. They must also thrive working in a very busy and change driven environment. As such, applicants must be able to demonstrate through their CV and covering letter that they meet the following capabilities:
- Qualification in a relevant discipline such as Business Administration, Events Management or relevant experience.
- Experience in delivering Civic Functions and Citizenships
- Experience working within Local Government Events (desirable);
- Ability to create and maintain relationships with community members, community groups, clubs, local business and all other stakeholders;
- C class Drivers Licence.
