The Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) is an independent statutory authority responsible for preparing and conducting criminal prosecutions in Victoria on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). Matters prosecuted by the DPP and the OPP involve serious crimes or matters that are of significance to the fair and effective operation of the Victorian criminal justice system. The OPP consists of the Solicitor for Public Prosecutions and a staff of approximately 475 providing legal and corporate support to the DPP, the Chief Crown Prosecutor and Crown Prosecutors in the exercise of their independent roles in the criminal justice system.
Executive Assistant
Full Time, Fixed Term –2 Years
The OPP has an exciting opportunity to join our Executive team and work closely with the Solicitor for Public Prosecutions (SPP) as an Executive Assistant.
A successful incumbent will provide critical administrative support to the Executive team. The incumbent would be responsible for drafting reports, preparing correspondence, conducting legal research and other tasks as required.
About the Role:
Preparing confidential, accurate and concise correspondence, memoranda and advice on behalf of the Executive team.
Acting as a central point of contact between the SPP and Executive team and both internal and external stakeholders.
Undertaking research and analysis of legal/administrative issues and providing advice and recommendations to the Executive team as required.
As our ideal candidate you will have:
Experience providing high level administrative support in a complex, confidential and sensitive environment.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with relevant stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability working in a dynamic environment with competing priorities and deadlines.
