Cranbrook Care is looking for an Executive Chef to join the team in our award-winning residential aged care facility, Bella Vista Gardens, located in Sydney Hills District.

Bella Vista Gardens is a carefully considered modern residence that offers all of the comforts of home, in an elegant, architecturally designed and very personalised environment. It is an Extra Service facility and thereby provides additional ‘hotel’ type services or lifestyle extras, including higher standards of accommodation and increased activities, entertainment, and food choices.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Executive Chef will lead and manage the kitchen team to deliver exceptional food services to 140 residents.

You will:

• manage the kitchen to deliver food services that meet nutritional and hydration needs of residents in accordance with individual resident’s assessed needs and preferences
• build, manage and motivate a team to safely and effectively deliver food services
• be an expert in food safety and will manage a kitchen that adheres to the Food Safety Program, including ensuring that quality and food safety standards are met at all times
• manage the food budget to deliver food services within budget constraints
• be a role model of Cranbrook Care culture and run the kitchen in accordance with Cranbrook Care values

Bella Vista operates 365 days a year. Days and hours of duties will generally be during standard business hours from Monday to Friday. However, it may be necessary to vary times of attendance depending on the needs of the residents and staff and the requirements of the business.

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking an Executive Chef who:

• Is committed to delivering an exceptional level of service;
• Enjoys working in teams and is prepared to actively support team members and the broader Cranbrook Care community
• Is responsive to the changes to the dietary requirements of residents;
• Can work as part of the care homes Leadership Team;
• Has proven experience in managing and leading a kitchen team.

You Will:

• Have experience in aged care, hospital or hotel background;
• Have a sound understanding of all regulatory compliance and food safety associated with cooking for vulnerable persons;
• Hygiene & infection control knowledge a must;
• Have strong communication and time management skills;
• Good computer literacy skills an advantage
• Be organised, passionate and possess a 'can do' attitude;
• Can provide leadership and set a high bar for PPE;
• Have a Cert III or IV in Commercial Cookery or other relevent trade qualification

This position will allow you to be part of a cohesive, dynamic team, dedicated to providing the best level of service and care to our residents.

You have a kind and compassionate nature with the ability to deal with sensitive issues in a professional, respectful and caring manner. You are an excellent communicator with second-to-none customer service skills.
