About the organisation
headspace plays a vital role in helping over 100,000 young people per year to access innovative and inclusive mental health services nationally. With an increasing need for services and a strong funding commitment from governments, their reach and impact has rapidly expanded and is now going through a period of consolidation. headspace has their main head office in Melbourne, licences a national network of 160 headspace centres, provides online services such as eheadspace and Work and Study and has a strong connection to Australian schools and universities. headspace has an annual revenue of $70m and a workforce of 500 FTE, plus young PEOPLE AND family reference groups who are engaged for their lived experiences and perspective. They have an ambitious strategy and are committed to building on a highly collaborative youth mental health system of care through the provision of evidence based and youth informed supports including specific innovative approaches led by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.About the role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the executive team, the Executive Director, People and Culture is responsible for developing and implementing the headspace People strategy. The role is integral to ensuring that the people strategies and supporting structures align seamlessly with the organisation's strategic direction. In this highly visible position, the appointee will act as a trusted adviser to the CEO, Board, and executives, providing leadership to ensure that the workforce capacity, capability AND CULTURE support growth, development and consolidation. Strategic and tactical thinking are key to this role, providing creative and insightful solutions to critical PEOPLE AND service issues, managing risk in relation to employee and industrial relations matters and driving performance. The role will lead the enhancement of the employee experience across the lifecycle and develop targeted initiatives across talent and succession planning, diversity and inclusion, health, safety and wellbeing, and corporate services. Critical to success, the Executive Director will lead the People and Culture Division to provide outstanding people focussed, proactive and effective services to headspace employees.About you
You are a highly experienced and innovative executive who can facilitate excellence across the diverse functions of the P&C division, are a strong communicator and thrive in a fast-paced service delivery environment. The ED P&C has considerable knowledge and proficiency in human capital management, sustainability, wellbeing and engagement, quality systems, continuous improvement and business operations. Recognised for your capabilities in leading organisational culture and hybrid working models, your experience has ideally been gained in complex services or for-purpose environments. Presenting with creativity and curiosity, you are an architect of human resources strategy designed to enhance employee experience, build culture and manage risk. Your reputation as a trusted adviser to the executive is underpinned by your credibility, collaborative style, and exceptional influencing and interpersonal skills.
