About the opportunity

Southern Cross University (SCU), Technology Services is establishing an Enterprise Architecture practice to shape the strategic direction of the technology portfolio and guide the delivery of a modern and efficient technology stack.

As a newly established capability, you will have the opportunity to build and shape the architecture practice, creating a culture of excellence with a focus on maximising impact.

Leading the practice, you will be responsible for:

  • Partnering with the University leaders to create alignment and set the strategic direction of the technology portfolio to achieve the University’s goals and objectives.
  • Developing and evolving target architectures and strategic roadmaps across the various domains.
  • Guiding technology initiatives and delivery programs to align with business objectives.
  • Spearheading strategic solutioning for the University.
  • Overseeing solution design and Architecture governance to ensure alignment with target architectures and business priorities.
  • Owning and developing architecture practices, standards, principles and patterns.
  • Overseeing portfolio lifecycle management.
  • Leading and nurturing a high performing architecture practice.
About you

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of Enterprise Architecture experience, including 3 years leading a team in a similar role. You’re experience will have been gained in complex, large scale environments in industries such as Finance, Banking, Retail, Manufacturing, Distribution or Tertiary education. In addition, you will possess:

  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement abilities to consult, collaborate with, and guide a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • A strong grasp of the enterprise architecture and strategy development processes.
  • Demonstrable experience developing and embedding architecture practices, principles and processes, and overseeing architecture governance.
  • Proven history of developing target architectures and roadmaps and undertaking strategic solutioning across various domains.
  • Familiarity with application development methodologies, practices, and tools.
  • A track record as a leader, coaching, mentoring, and building high performance teams.

This is a full-time, fixed-term (5 years) position based in the beautiful Northern Rivers or Gold Coast regions with generous relocation support available.
