The QPS acts as the primary law enforcement agency for Queensland. It fulfils this role throughout the state, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, upholding the law and providing assistance to the community particularly in times of emergency, disaster and crisis.
The QPS has two service areas: Crime and Public Order; and Road Safety.

About the Role and You
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive and performing as a key member of the QPS Executive Leadership Team, the Executive Director, Policy and Performance will have the responsibility of providing executive direction to support government priorities and enhance community safety. This will include collaboration across government agencies and sectors to understand broader impacts and develop consensus-driven solutions through evidence-based policy development. Additionally, there is a responsibility to offer forward-thinking policy leadership to senior management, promote evidence-based approaches, and drive innovation to address future challenges for the organisation and the community.
We are seeking an executive professional proficient in building and managing strategic partnerships within the QPS and across government sectors, while representing QPS in various forums and negotiations. Success in this position will be defined by providing expert advice to key stakeholders, ensuring rigorous policy evaluation, and managing resources efficiently with a demonstrated capability to lead a financially sustainable, high performance, innovative workforce who can deliver key outcomes effectively.
