The role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer you will work as part of the executive leadership team and in partnership with the Director of Nursing supporting remote facilities in North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS). You will provide effective leadership, management and advocacy of Remote Health Services. Additionally, you will lead the implementation of operational reforms under the National and State Health reform agenda.
You will also:
- Strategically and collegiately work with the Executive Director Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, Community Elders and senior staff to achieve service improvements for First Nations people.
- Identify opportunities for service efficiencies through standardisation, shared resources and contracting with external service providers across facilities.
- Identify, quantify and mitigate risks in the delivery of clinical and non-clinical operations including; clinical, strategic, operational, financial and reputational risk
Additional
- Whilst not mandatory, an advanced degree in a relevant field is highly desirable.
- Considerable knowledge in the health service delivery environment with a clinical activity costing and performance management focus would be highly regarded.
- Travel to remote locations required
The successful person
The successful candidate will have a proven record as a senior leader and thought leader of a similar position within a large organisation. You will have a great focus on how North West can improve contemporary HR strategies. Your demonstrated experience to effectively lead at an executive level to delivery key organisational priorities is essential and having a track record in leading and managing all aspects of the HRM function within a complex organisation will be vital to this role.
About North West Hospital and Health Service
The North West Hospital and Health Services (NWHHS) is responsible for the public sector Health Services in the North West region. The NWHHS covers an area of approximately 300,000 square kilometres and services many of the remote communities within North Western Queensland and the Gulf of Carpentaria.
The Health Service is responsible for the promotion and wellbeing of people within the service area and ensuring that Health Services are of a high quality, accessible to all and effective.
