Executive Director role within Global Institutional Banking Coverage.Integral role for the Institutional Coverage Team.Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) is responsible for leading the Group’s relationships with major corporate, institutional and government clients and institutional investors, and provides a range of capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services. Global Institutional Banking Coverage (GIBC) leads banking relationship management and the provision of capital, transaction banking, risk management and capital solutions to our clients. The team’s purpose is to provide IB&M clients with solutions across the financing spectrum to support their strategic objectives.
Global Institutional Banking Coverage operates in three industry eco-systems: Institutional, Corporate and Natural Resources and Carbon. Transaction banking supports the coverage ecosystems through the distribution of transaction banking and analytical insights.Do Work That MattersAs an Executive Director you will work closely with a combination of internal stakeholders and external customers to deliver strategic outcomes for the Institutional Coverage business.Support the Co-Heads Institutional Coverage with the execution of key strategic initiatives of the business and implement and manage operational consistency and alignment across the business unit.Work closely with leadership to define commitments and outcomes and provide strategic project guidance. Provide strategic assessment, alternatives and guidance to MDs.Prepare materials for the MDs Institutional for various business, risk and governance forums, including the preparation of presentation materials, speaking notes, strategy papers and Board and CEO level documentation.To succeed in the role, the individual will need to:Amplify the reach and build greater clarity of the Institutional Client strategy within the team and throughout CBA.Capture external ideas, competitive insights and grass-roots customer feedback to inform business-writing Strategy and identify growth opportunities, layering in internal portfolio and financial data to ensure profitable origination, sustainable revenue diversity and targeted investment within Risk Appetite.Challenge the service model, leveraging internal and external data, transformative technologies and customer insights. This includes development of a customer management framework to instil commercial review discipline, inform segmentation, and validate a relationship value using financial and non-financial metrics.Build relevance and value CBA delivers to clients through non-traditional products and services, particularly in support of climate transition.Promptly identify opportunities and threats that emerge from events which may impact customer buying behaviour, including regulation, legislation, systemic economic stress or technological change.Coordinate prompt actions on idiosyncratic customer stress, bringing together relevant SMEs on an action plan.Use your practical and hands-on business experience to translate the deliverables and broader strategic goals into actionable KPIs for the team, ensuring buy-in and alignment from key stakeholders, as well as consistent reporting and monitoringThe people, businesses and communities we serve are wonderfully diverse.
