The Position
The Executive Finance Manager (EFM) will manage finances to ensure that financial planning, record keeping, budgeting, reporting and other fiduciary responsibilities at Eye Surgery Associates (ESA) are consistently met to the highest standards.
Reporting to the CEO, this role will establish and build on current processes and systems and actively contribute to planning, operational efficiency and continuous service excellence.
Skills & Experience that will set you up for success, include:
- Experience leading entire financial operations, with Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualifications.
- Background within private health (e.g. large specialist medical practice) and understanding of the financial complexity of this kind of environment.
- Proficiency and understanding of complex financial accounting systems, experience with Xero would be beneficial.
- Success as a leader with an appetite for providing quality financial advice and supporting the organisation to ensure effectiveness of finance policies and procedures.
- Proven ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders across various organisational levels.
- Being a values-driven leader with a ‘hands on approach’ to ensure service delivery outcomes.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives and streamlining procedures is highly desirable.
- An Executive who requires a flexible working environment and is able to conduct some work independently from home.

Eye Surgery Associates (ESA) is a group of highly qualified sub-specialist Ophthalmologists offering a range of medical and surgical eye specialist services from four sites across metropolitan Melbourne. The Specialists at ESA are supported by a team of over 90 staff, who work in various roles including Orthoptics/Clinical Services, Administration, Management, Accounts, Information Technology, Communications, and Marketing & Events.
