- Leadership position within our Financial Markets Compliance team
How will I help?
This role is responsible for providing dedicated business facing compliance support to the Financial Markets (FM) and Treasury (TSY) businesses. The position will provide dedicated, independent second line of defence compliance support to the FM and TSY businesses across BAU advisory matters.
The key responsibilities include:
- Supporting Westpac's compliance strategy across the FM and TSY.
- Driving a best practice approach to compliance risk management, including conflicts management.
- Maintaining a positive and transparent relationship with the business and internal stakeholders.
- Providing proactive, reliable and relevant compliance advice regarding FM's and TSY's business activities.
- Facilitating face to face training to address regulatory and business requirements.
- Undertaking the completion of BAU compliance activities, including, but not limited to, the following:
- Participation in the Product Approval Committee process for new products.
- Completion of compliance assessments and breach reporting in a timely manner.
- Monitoring, identifying, and advising on domestic and global regulatory change.
- Reporting to oversight committees and forums.
- Liaising with the broader Compliance function and risk partners in an effective and productive way.

What do I need?
We are looking for someone who has leadership experience and exposure operating at an equivalent level. We are ideally seeking someone who has operated in a compliance role within the Financial Markets space and someone who has a detailed knowledge of the Australian Regulatory environment within Financial Markets
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience effectively interacting and influencing stakeholders at all levels and have the capacity to operate in a complex, changing and sometimes ambiguous environment.
