It provides policing throughout Australia in relation to the prevention and detection of crimes against the Commonwealth, its laws and integrity, and community police services to the Community of the ACT.

Working for the AFP provides you with a diverse and rewarding career. Whether you immerse yourself in a position on the frontline, or provide critical operational or professional support, the work you do makes a big impact to the people of Australia.

What is the role?

The Asia/Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG) is an inter-governmental organisation founded in 1997. It consists of 42 member jurisdictions whose focus is to ensure that, individually, its members implement the international standards against Money Laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing related to weapons of mass destruction.

What will you do?

Key responsibilities of the Executive Secretary are two-fold:

The Executive Secretary is required to identify, assess and manage risk or areas of potential risk to the APG membership including scoping resource needs to deliver APG outcomes.

To the AFP: To deliver outcomes under the AFP/APG Administrative Hosting Arrangement 2023 and the AFP’s Governance Framework. The Executive Secretary is required to identify, assess and manage risk across a number of areas including financial risk, reputational risk and programme delivery risk, or other areas of potential risk, to the AFP arising from the AFP/APG hosting arrangement and to provide advice and solutions where necessary.

All AFP appointees ensure that the achievement of outcomes is in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance instruments.
