Job Description:
We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team at Delicatessen Kitchen and Bar. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for French cuisine, strong leadership skills, and a creative approach to menu development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Menu Planning and Weekly Specials:
- Craft menus that showcase the artistry and flavors of French cuisine.
- Introduce enticing weekly specials to keep our offerings exciting and dynamic.
- Ordering and Inventory Management:
- Manage ingredient inventory efficiently, sourcing high-quality French ingredients.
- Place timely and accurate orders to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Kitchen Management:
- Lead and inspire our kitchen team to consistently deliver outstanding French-inspired culinary experiences.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Maintain Cleaning Standards:
- Uphold strict hygiene and cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen.
- Oversee regular cleaning schedules to ensure a safe and sanitary workspace.
- Staff Roistering:
- Develop and manage kitchen staff schedules, ensuring appropriate coverage for business demands.
- Optimize staffing levels to control labor costs while maintaining high-quality service.
- Wastage Control:
- Implement strategies to minimize food wastage and control costs, adhering to French culinary principles.
- Monitor portion control and kitchen practices to reduce unnecessary waste.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef or Head Chef in a high-volume kitchen with a focus on French cuisine.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Knowledge of French culinary techniques and a passion for culinary innovation.
