Position: Experienced Chef 

Location: 12 Waymouth St, Adelaide 5000

Restaurant: Delicatessen Kitchen and Bar

Cuisine Focus: French-inspired culinary experiences

Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 per year

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team at Delicatessen Kitchen and Bar. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for French cuisine, strong leadership skills, and a creative approach to menu development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Menu Planning and Weekly Specials:
  • Craft menus that showcase the artistry and flavors of French cuisine.
  • Introduce enticing weekly specials to keep our offerings exciting and dynamic.
  • Ordering and Inventory Management:
  • Manage ingredient inventory efficiently, sourcing high-quality French ingredients.
  • Place timely and accurate orders to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Kitchen Management:
  • Lead and inspire our kitchen team to consistently deliver outstanding French-inspired culinary experiences.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Maintain Cleaning Standards:
  • Uphold strict hygiene and cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen.
  • Oversee regular cleaning schedules to ensure a safe and sanitary workspace.
  • Staff Roistering:
  • Develop and manage kitchen staff schedules, ensuring appropriate coverage for business demands.
  • Optimize staffing levels to control labor costs while maintaining high-quality service.
  • Wastage Control:
  • Implement strategies to minimize food wastage and control costs, adhering to French culinary principles.
  • Monitor portion control and kitchen practices to reduce unnecessary waste.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Chef or Head Chef in a high-volume kitchen with a focus on French cuisine.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Knowledge of French culinary techniques and a passion for culinary innovation.
