Diaco's Garden Nursery Mornington is looking for a full-time Experienced Retail Assistant who has a strong work ethic and an enthusiastic attitude to join our team.
We are offering a full-time position. Our opening hours are from 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Sunday.
Key Responsibilities
Process Sales
Scan items through the POS System
Get Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in the Store Manager's absence to authorise a discount
Collect payment
Issue customers with a tax invoice or receipt when a sale is processed
Arrange delivery dates and times
Process returns or refunds following Diaco's policies and procedures and report these to the Store Manager daily.
Process Orders
Take customer orders (special orders, extra stock etc.)
Collate customer in-store orders list every Monday morning
Prepare online orders for dispatch and pick-up
Petty Cash
Administer petty cash
Record amounts taken from petty cash and purpose
Receive receipts for petty cash expenditure
Phone Duties
Answer the phone, take initial enquiries and transfer calls to the appropriate person
Check phone answering machine
Customer Service
Greet customers as they enter the Nursery
Serve and help customers to the best of their ability
Request for customers to complete surveys
Refer all customer complaints to the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager
Nursery Appearance
Keep check out area clean and functional at all times
Clean and tidy products and items around till area
Tiding up and cutting back of plants, re-bagging products, etc. (as requested)
Any other ad hoc duties as specified by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager
Required Attributes and Qualifications:
Retail sales background (e.g. Coles, Woolies, K-Mart, etc.)
Experience in cashiering
Good presentation
Good phone etiquette
Friendly
Ability to interact with customers
Knowledge of plants
Fit, healthy, able to manage moderate to heavy lifting
