we’re the people who take on the problems that have never been solved. the ones that stretch you outside of what’s known, where your true genius is challenged and shines. the opportunity this role will assist the project manager or senior project manager in the management and delivery of Project Engineering activities.
working closely with the project manager to meet the operational commitments in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, including environmental sustainability, whs activities, systems assurance, risk management, competency, requirement management, procurement, installation, test and commissioning, and site supervision. key responsibilities include
- planning and conducting professional engineering work without direct supervision
- supervise and co-ordinate multi-disciplined design activities
- control and manage technical interfaces between disciplines, with equipment suppliers and subcontractors
- assist in the preparation of quotes and tenders, forecast and constructability of projects
- supervise commissioning activities with the site commissioning teams (including on-site activities during commissioning)
- manage project scope and promptly detail any scope changes, schedule impacts and cost impacts that could affect the project, to ensure maximum return
- assist the project manager with all procurement and purchases of goods and services requirements to be successful
- experience in delivery of rail system projects including experience with procedures including possession/occupation management, isolation requests, hour by hour planning, construction adjacent to live services and entry into service processes.
- tertiary qualifications in electrical engineer
- experience in developing scopes and estimating.
- experience in procurement to ensure deliveries meet construction schedule requirements
- strong background dealing with contractor organisations and enforcing compliance with hseq
- understanding and experience in 'design-for-construction” environment and “safety in design” practices.
