The Role
The External Communications Manager is accountable to the Manager Corporate Communications for managing and building the Melbourne Water brand and profile in the community through strategic and integrated communications across all channels.
This will be achieved through:
- Leading a team in the development and delivery of MW’s brand and channel strategy and annual marketing plans, team resource management and budget allocation across all channels.
- Working closely with the Corporate Comms Leadership Team to identify initiatives to progress Melbourne Water’s strategic Goals and Brand Strategy.
- Overseeing the strategy and delivery of MW’s External Communications plan.
- Working with the Internal Communications team in the seamless integration of internal and External Communications telling one MW story and narrative, and building employee understanding of our services, the goals and the challenges we face in the decade that matters.
- Working with key stakeholders, Comms and Engagement teams, Water Literacy Program Manager and Corporate Partnership Manager to deliver content in line with brand strategy for these programs.
- Driving continuous improvement and innovations in marketing and communications based on measurement, insights and best practice.
Your Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in managing and developing teams.
- Proven experience in managing marketing, media and communications.
- Demonstrated experience in driving and delivering integrated communications across all channels.
- Ability to translate operational strategy into operational performance and financial outcomes.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen, with experience in successfully managing finance budgets and forecasts.
- Maturity and judgement necessary to contribute to complex decision making.
Your strong people leadership skills and experience along with your ability to lead change and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders will be keys to this role.
