Job description

Tall Ingots, a leading metal recycling company with over 50 years of experience, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Facilities Manager to join our team in Queensland. Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the maintenance and operation of facilities to ensure efficient and safe functionality. 
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of contractors involved in maintenance projects. 
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols for a secure working environment. 
  • Oversee environmental initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations and implementing sustainability measures. 
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and legislation 
  • Develop and manage budgets for facility-related projects, optimizing costs and resources. 
  • Calculate and compare costs for required facilities management services. 
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for facility-related services, ensuring high-quality standards. 
  • Manage tenders for contractors and monitor service level agreements. 
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans to address potential facility-related issues. 
  • Respond to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise. 
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize space utilization within the facilities. 
  • Plan space and resource allocation for new or existing premises. 
  • Stay informed about relevant regulations and industry best practices to ensure Tall Ingots remains compliant. 
  • Plan for future development in line with strategic business objectives. 
  • Coordinate and lead facilities management staff. 
  • Manage change to ensure minimal disruption to company business activities. 
  • Coordinate and plan essential services such as reception, security, maintenance, mail, archiving, cleaning, catering, waste disposal, and recycling. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in facilities management. 
  • AQF Advanced Diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor's degree in a related field. 
  • Proven experience in managing tenders, supervising contractors, and coordinating essential services. 
  • Proven experience in facilities management, preferably in industrial or manufacturing settings 
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and environmental compliance. 
  • Budget management and cost optimization skills. 
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
