Position objectives
The Project Management Officer – Capital Projects will be responsible for:
- Facilitate the development of Council’s annual capital works program through overseeing and supporting the project delivery teams across Council in the development of project briefs and budgets.
- Assisting the Strategic Asset Systems unit in the development and implementation of Council’s forward 10 year capital works program.
- Providing professional advice on capital works programming and Project Management activities as required.
- In conjunction with supervisor, identify and define strategic issues for the organisation in delivering a full capital works program on an annual basis that meets renewal and other requirements.
- In conjunction with supervisor, implement Project Management tools, methodologies and training to manage capital works projects and reporting.
- Ensure Council effectively and efficiently achieves its annual Capital Works program to meet renewal requirements and to provide the necessary infrastructure for our community to realise the Council vision of being the most liveable, people-friendly community in Australia.
Qualifications and experience
Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Project Management and demonstrated significant experience in managing a diverse range of projects and services.
- Proven ability in developing, implementing and maintaining effective working relationships particularly when the relevant staff are not direct reports.
- Experience in assisting with the development and implementation of strategies and policies.
- Extensive experience in Capital Works Programming and Project Management.
- Extensive experience in capital budget development, forecasting and reporting.
- A current Driver’s License. The work associated with this position requires self-drive travel using Council’s transport, to & from various locations within the Municipality or other work related locations.
Salary and conditions
The position is classified within Band 7 of Council’s current Enterprise Agreement ranging from $101,930.40 to $114,058.88 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
