Job description

HEO7 $95,017 - $106,270 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation.

Full time, fixed term position for 24 months.

The Infrastructure Branch consists of three organisational portfolios and plays an active role in ensuring the campuses and physical facilities of the University continue to develop, adapt and improve in a complex, competitive and changing higher education environment. 

The Capital Projects and Facility Management (CP&FM) portfolio sits within the Infrastructure Branch and is responsible for providing facilities management and support services across the University’s property portfolio to support the University’s core learning, teaching and research activities. It manages all mechanical, plumbing, hydraulic, electrical, vertical transport, water treatment, fume cupboards, pest control, building, security, grounds, mail services, transport, fire and emergency management services, cleaning, caretaking, waste management, and car parking for staff and students. 

Under limited direction, the Facility Manager, North Terrace Campus, coordinates and manages local service delivery contracts and key personnel to ensure the smooth running of the Campus. In this vital role, you will thrive in delivering minor capital upgrades such as minor building works, assist and support contract management around transport services and mail services as required.

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in facilities management/maintenance services for a diverse property portfolio.
  • Working knowledge of principles and practices of project management and/or business administration.
  • Understanding and implementation of planned, preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Demonstrated contractor operational management capabilities.
  • Appreciation of Works Schedules for agreed facilities services.
  • Financial management experience.
  • Experience within the tertiary education environment is desirable.

Qualifications:

  • A trade or tertiary qualification with experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • A trade qualification in either mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or fire services is desirable.
