Facilities/Maintenance Officer

Monte Sant' Angelo Mercy College is an independent school for girls in years 7 - 12. A full time, permanent opportunity has become available for a suitably qualified Facilities/Maintenance Officer to join the College's Facilities and Maintenance Team. This position is responsible for improving overall campus presentation and carrying out repairs, maintenance as well as minor building and furniture alterations as well as assisting with College event setups.

The ideal candidate will offer a positive work ethic, with excellent communication skills and a 'can-do' approach.   

Key responsibilities include:

• Liaising with other members of the Facilities team to ensure that all maintenance and facilities work is carried out in the most efficient, effective and timely manner
• Carrying out painting and associated repair and refurbishments across the campus
• Assisting with College set ups and takedowns as well as general deliveries
• Keeping the College workshop tidy and clean
• Contributing to the development and maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment for all

Key Competencies:

• Professional handyperson, prior experience with painting highly desirable
• Other trades experience such as carpentry, basic plumbing, electrical also desirable
• Ability to work at heights over two metres (with safety equipment and training)
• Physically fit with the ability to move furniture and set up adjustable stages, and other heavy manual handling tasks
• Understanding of the proactive care and protection of campus facilities, assets and resources
• Knowledge and understanding of WH&S legislation and regulations

This is a full-time, ongoing position based around a 38 hour week with hours in the team spanning from 6.00am - 6.00pm Monday - Friday.
