Skills and experience
Applicant must have the following skills;
- Must have previous fabrication & leadership experience
- Ability to read and interpret measurements
- Ability to use and operate hand tools and machinery in a safe manner
- Ability to solve problems and be self motivated, maintain a can do positive attitude
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Adhere to WHS policies
- Ability to work as part of a team or individually, be motivated and able to work unsupervised
- Must be able to work overtime if required (remuneration paid for overtime)
- Fit and healthy, honest, hard working
- Good communication skills
- Some computer skills for ordering materials and sending/receiving emails
- Forklift licence is an advantage
- Australian drivers licence
About the role
This role is 5 days a week 6.30am - 3pm Monday to Friday and does include occasional overtime.
Successful applicants would begin a three month probation period and if successful will lead to a full time role and potentially higher hourly rate depending on your ability. Uniform provided.
Immediate start subject to applicant’s notice period.
You will have previous experience fabricating fly/barrier and security screens and doors. You will be leading a team of four fabricators, mentoring and training them as required.
Daily duties include but not limited to: Cutting extrusion on our double mitre saw, fabricating all kinds of fly and security screens, ordering materials as required, goods receiving, liaising with fitters and office staff, ensuring the shed is clean and tidy.
