Qualifications & experience
- Timber industry experience is not necessary as on-the-job training will be provided, with opportunities for advancement in the future.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking.
- Experience in a supervisory role would be beneficial.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Work closely with the Sandalwood Manager to acquire the skills and expertise needed to improve workflow and efficiency within the factory, as well as to support and motivate factory staff.
- Ensure product quality by adhering to the specifications set by management and clients.
- Monitor production schedules as needed to meet customer demands and shipping deadlines.
- Supervise and lead a team of factory hands, providing guidance, training, roster schedules and support as needed. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training needs to support employee development.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with company WHS policies and procedures while promoting a culture of safety awareness among factory staff.
- Acquiring the necessary skills to operate all factory machinery under the direction of the Sandalwood Manager.
