We are looking for a Family Case Worker to join our Families team based in Grafton. This position is Permanent part-time 60 hours per fortnight
The Role:
This position is Aboriginal identified. To perform this role, it is essential that the person who holds the role be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders. Evidence of Aboriginality may be required.
Livable Early Intervention Service delivers flexible support to children and young people (0-18 years), families and communities experiencing or at risk of vulnerability. We adopt a family centred, strengths based approach to improve family wellbeing and promote meaningful and sustainable outcomes for the families we work with. The role will see you actively engage with Aboriginal communities, families and stakeholders to ensure parents and care givers are able to meet their personal wellbeing and safety outcomes and are able to provide their children and young people with a safe and nurturing home.
Your skills and experience will include:
You will have a genuine passion for helping people who are vulnerable with previous experience working with children and families who are at risk.
Working as part of a dynamic and vibrant team, to be successful at Livable you will have:
- The ability to establish and maintain relationships with other services to meet the needs of families
- Experience in planning and delivery of community events
- High level verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience of advocating on behalf of families and young people
- Demonstrated experience in case management
- Comprehensive understanding of Domestic Violence and Child Protection
- Demonstrated experience of working both unsupervised and within a team
To be successful, you will need:
- Working with Children’s check
- National Police check
- First Aid Certificate
- Drivers licence [and own insured vehicle if applicable]
- Three mandatory COVID vaccination certificates
You will also be required to complete the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission Worker Orientation Module or provide evidence of completion. The successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate entitlement to work in Australia and to disclose any pre-existing injury or disease which may be adversely affected by undertaking the inherent requirements of the position.
