A.B.A. Lawyers has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Family Law Solicitor to join our busy boutique and long-established law firm located in North Lakes. We have only one goal: to achieve a just and proper outcome for our clients at a reasonable price. We always try to provide a friendly and (importantly) professional service. To date we have achieved that via our referrals and with minimal advertising. 80% of our fees are Family Law, but we also undertake succession and estate work, business and conveyancing matters. We encourage a good work/life balance and have a small, friendly office environment with ample undercover parking in the North Lakes business district.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide high quality legal advice and representation to clients in Family Law matters, including property settlements, divorce, child custody, domestic violence and other (but limited legal practice areas).
• Maintain accurate and detailed records and file notes, manage deadlines and comply with all legal procedures and Rules of Court.
• Negotiate with solicitors and self-represented parties in order to settle matters in the client’s best interests.
• Draft legal documentation, correspondence and other legal/Court documents.
• Appear in Court (as required) to advocate for clients.

We are looking for

• Passionate, self-motivated Solicitor with experience in Family Law.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
• A person who prides themselves on working autonomously and enjoys being part of a team.
• A person who is driven and has the confidence to take proactive steps to progress matters.
• If you possess experience in Conveyancing, and Estate Planning that would also be very well considered.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
