Farm and Stock Hand
Tasmanian Berries require 3 full-time staff working a minimum 38 hours a week. Successful applicants will work across both our Cattle and Maintenance teams commencing August 2024 until April 2025. The work will be based at the following farms.
- 284 Exton Road, Exton TAS 7303
- 9 Christmas Hills Road, Elizabeth Town, TAS, 7304
Work will be primarily assisting our Stock Manager and with the Farm Maintenance team.
The duties of the work will include but are not limited to:
Assisting with the care of cattle
Paddock Maintenance
Fencing Maintenance
Mowing
Brush cutting
General Farm Work
Applicants must:
Be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Be fit and healthy; not be colour blind or vision impaired (as the role requires employees to notice colours on the cattle);
Be able to multi-task with attention to detail.
Be able to acquire good speed and to learn manual tasks
Be able to follow instructions, learn and apply new process quickly
Be able to work in a team environment.
When farm work is conducted, it will be paid as an hourly rate, all work is performed under the Pastoral Award 2020 Level 1 and the minimum rate is $22.61 per hour. Upskilling and additional allowances may also be paid if you are trained in extra tasks, leading hand or first aid.
Hours worked will generally be Monday to Friday between the hours of 6:00am and 6:00pm. Weekend work may occasionally be required.
