The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) was founded in 1877 and is one of Australia's leading beef cattle companies, managing over 6.1 million hectares and home of Australia's First Carbon Neutral Beef - Five Founders. NAPCo employs approximately 220 staff operating across Queensland and the Northern Territory, with 14 cattle stations, a Depot in Mount Isa, a Feedlot and Farm in the Darling Downs and an office in Brisbane's CBD.
The Wainui Feedlot has an 18,000 head capacity, feed rations are mixed on-site using grain processed through a state-of-the-art feed mill. A 4,600 hectare dry-land and irrigated farming enterprise also operates on the property. Located between Dalby and Toowoomba, the Wainui Feedlot has a reputation for staff retention, tidiness and operational excellence.
About the role
Reporting to the Feedlot Manager, the Feedlot Administration Manager ensures the smooth, efficient and professional administration of the feedlot office. Leading the team in routine administration tasks and management of data and systems whilst striving for the highest standards in quality and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Office administration being the first point of contact for enquiries in person, by phone, email and delegating tasks to the team
- Organising accounts, ordering & approvals, invoice matching, entering payments, monthly reconciliations and reporting
- Staff inductions, organising training and maintaining records
- Collation of weekly timesheets
- Coordination of site and office maintenance
- When required, grain testing and weighbridge duties
- Supporting and maintaining an employee focused culture
- Excellent people engagement skills with a warm and welcoming personality
- Ideally experience using Elynx Software Programs (FY3000, Stockaid, Weighbridge, Feedbunk)
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to work collaboratively
- Commitment, motivation and initiative with the ability to change priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong business acumen with a high attention to detail
- The ability to foster and maintain sound working relationships with key stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Familiarity with accounting systems/duties, human resources, HSE and customer service procedures
- Excellent computer skills across operating systems such as, Microsoft office suite, communication & collaboration tools (Teams, Zoom ) etc.
