About the role
Thiess Mount Pleasant Operation located just outside of Muswellbrook, has just commenced a new 5-year contract and the implementation of new equipment. As our next Field Leading Hand, you will work collaboratively toward delivering high-quality solutions and results.
Working a Monday to Thursday 4 x 12hr dayshift roster with overtime opportunities, you will thrive on meeting all goals and challenges, and act with fairness and integrity in all that you do.
In this role, you will:
- Support the on duty Field Maintenance Supervisor and provide leadership and guidance of maintenance crew in following the developed Schedule - Plan
- Lead the execution of all shut work, servicing, major repairs and maintenance of large Liebherr and Komatsu excavators, CAT and Terex drills and other smaller ancillary equipment as directed in accordance with Thiess scheduling/planning functions
- Provide input and task based knowledge at the weekly schedule review meeting
- Source technical information from the relevant OEM departments, available reference manuals, technical bulletins, and computer-based systems
- Assist crews in effectively meeting daily safety and maintenance targets for the project
- Provide technical information to staff and operations personnel
- Source and requisition parts and/or equipment requirements through the appropriate manuals or publications using the correct ordering procedure
- Verify the implementation of solutions and/or control further non-conforming machinery until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
- Trade Qualified Mechanic Certificate III Automotive Mechanical Technology (Heavy Vehicle Mobile Equipment) or equivalent
- At least 5 years of mining experience with exposure to leading or supervision of mobile maintenance HD Fitter
- Demonstrated ability to work with cross functional teams
- You will also need to possess a high regard and practice health and safety at all times
- Mining Supervisory training will be highly regarded
