The City Works team is dynamic and is responsible for all of Council’s Civil and Building maintenance and the delivery of Kingston’s residential waste services.
Based in Dingley Village at Kingston’s new depot facility, this role assists in the delivery of our Civil Maintenance program through collaborative contract management, engagement and motivation of staff.
The role
We are seeking a Field Officer to join the City Works Team, reporting to the Coordinator Contracts & Audits, your role is to:
- Assist with managing civil infrastructure maintenance related contracts to ensure that Council maintains appropriate service levels within approved standards and specifications, timeframes, and budget.
- Investigate and provide specialist advice on issues relating to civil infrastructure assets.
- Receive and respond to customer enquiries and issues in a timely manner, providing follow-up and electronic reporting on action taken.
- Ensure that contractors are aware of and comply with all relevant policies, principles, and legal requirements.
About you
We are looking for someone with:
- Proven ability to manage service contracts for financial purposes, work quality and prioritise timeframes.
- Demonstrated experience in contract coordination.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and great organisational skills.
- Team orientated.
- Proven experience in Civil Construction, Maintenance, Local Government (desirable), and/or Project Management
- Current Driver’s Licence

The salary for this position starts at $76,900.98 (Band 5) per annum plus superannuation.
