OverviewThe Field Services Engineer reports remotely into the Service Delivery Manager who owns the field delivery and support function for this geographical area. This role includes on-going support after the delivery goes live. The Field Services Engineer is required to work on standby and perform some scheduled interstate duties.
Core Responsibilities- Champion a culture of “delighting” customers, through personal contact and communication with customers.
- Ensure that all field deliveries are carried out to completion within budget and on-time, using Vertel’s processes and systems.
- Provide day-day technical support to field staff doing projects (including service delivery partners and contractors).
- Oversees and ensures compliance with field quality and WHS practises and standards.
- Provides insight and ideas for field improvements to the Continuous Improvement Manager, to enable standardised national Vertel practices.
- Coordinates on site contract resources and ensure compliance with Vertel standard practises and Quality Assurance.
- Provide operational / technical support (break / fix) to ensure strict customer Service Level Agreements are met.
- 5 years’ experience within a telecommunications maintenance environment, including two-way radio and/or fixed wireless industries.
- Critical: Familiarity with industry standard test equipment such as Anritsu, Aeroflex, Com-120
- Critical: Working at heights, or the willingness to be appropriately trained
- Highly desirable: Antenna & combining systems
- Highly Desirable: Radio communications equipment (DMR / NXDN / analogue repeaters)
- Highly Desirable: break / fix of high availability radio and IP networks. - Microwave and Point to Point wireless broadband
- Competent computer literacy including remote equipment configurations (IP skills)
- Excellent people and communication skills
- Full COVID-19 Vaccinations
- Highly Desirable: Rigging licence – any level
- A Certificate 3 / Diploma in either Electrical or Electronic Engineering / Communications or equivalent
- Cisco Certified Network Association qualification (desirable)
- The ability to obtain a Working at heights and fit to climb qualification
- Valid driver’s licence
