About the Role:
As an experienced and values based leader, you will manage the financial performance of the facility through leadership over a number of functional areas. The position will oversee all facility based financial matters and provide commercial support across the wider operation. Additionally, the role is also responsible for the oversight of the commercial kitchen operations and the prisoner canteen requirements. Sound leadership of the teams that undertake this work is a must.
As part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) of Ravenhall Correctional Centre (RCC), the position will contribute to the strategic objectives of RCC. This position is responsible to a number of key stakeholders including GEO Corporate, contractors, suppliers, and the Department of Justice.
Skills and Experience:
To be successful in this position you will be a:
Qualified Accountant with at least 8 years relevant experience as a Senior Accountant or similar.
Demonstrated experience in preparing and reporting monthly accounts in a similar size organisation.
Demonstrated experience in preparing and managing budgets.
Practical working knowledge of Australian Standards of Accounting and Commercial accounting practices.
An inspirational leader and manager of others.
Ability to contribute to the strategic and financial development and performance management objectives of the Centre.
Sound knowledge of accounting, tax and statutory compliance requirements relating to a medium size organisation.
A sound knowledge of contract management within a service delivery environment.
Highly developed communication, negotiating and analytical skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of community, specialist and management groups.
Ability to develop and establish innovative guidelines and procedures that contribute to the Centre’s overall efficiency.
CPA or ACA will be highly regarded
