WHO WE ARE
Norsta North - located in Darwin - is a wholly owned subsidiary of NORSTA Maritime Pty Ltd, an Australian company. NORSTA operates in North-Eastern Australia and Northern Australia as the Royal Australian Navy’s Regional Maintenance Provider (RMP). Our mission is to provide essential maintenance and sustainment services for naval vessels in the region.
We are expanding rapidly and developing further capacity for more vessel platforms and are now looking to recruit the following position.
JOB SUMMARY
The Finance and Administration Officer is responsible for managing a broad spectrum of financial, administrative, tasks that are crucial to the efficient functioning of our organisation. This will involve significant stakeholder liaison, negotiation and relationship management across a range of diverse stakeholders.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial
- Handle accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment collection, and reconciliation.
- Prepare and maintain financial records, such as expense reports, budgets, and financial statements.
- Assist in financial analysis, forecasting, and budget planning activities.
- Coordinate with external vendors, suppliers, and financial institutions as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
Administration
- Manage office supplies inventory and procurement, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Coordinate office maintenance and repairs, liaising with relevant service providers.
- Assist in organising company events, meetings, and travel arrangements.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence, redirecting them as appropriate.
- Maintain office filing systems, both electronic and physical, in an organised and accessible manner.
- Provide general administrative support to team members and executives as needed.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of office policies and procedures.
- Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
- Perform any other tasks as required by Line Manager or RMP Program Manager.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- Demonstrated extensive experience in executing financial functions.
- Proven experience using modern financial systems.
- Proven attention to detail, analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional skills in written communication, data analysis, and presentation delivery.
- Advanced proficiency in stakeholder management.
- Proven ability to work independently and demonstrate strong organisational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in leading by example through compliance with an uncompromising commitment to company standards relating to, safety, quality and personal behaviour.
- Minimum Certificate IV in Business Administration, Accounting / Finance.
SECURITY ACCESS/CLEARANCE
As a condition of this role, you must be able to obtain (and hold) Baseline Defence security clearance, which requires Australian Citizenship. A National Police Check will also be undertaken.
