Permanent part-time Finance Assistant

ResortBrokers is Australia’s leading agency in accommodation property and business sales, covering hotels, motels, resorts, caravan parks and management rights.

We’re looking for an experienced accounts officer to support our long-standing Financial Controller in our two-person accounts team based in our West End office.

This permanent part-time role (minimum 30 hours, minimum 4 days a week) is ideal for someone adept at working in a fast-paced accounts team yet values the ability to disconnect from work once the day concludes.

We are open to discussion around exact start/finish times that suit our mutual convenience. We have in mind 9am to 2:30pm, which would be ideal for someone wanting to work around school hours.

As Finance Assistant you will support the Financial Controller with the following:

• Accounts payable — entering payments into MYOB.
• Accounts receivable — issuing and sending invoices to clients and following-up on all outstanding debtors.
• Trust account receipting and reconciliations.
• Credit card reconciliation, transaction processing and follow-up.
• Updating internal database with account information.
• Answering accounts queries from external solicitors.
• Answering incoming calls, as required.

There is minimal responsibility around end of month (EOM). Some minor Trust Account reconciliations are required each month; however, good organisation throughout the month makes these tasks easily manageable.

WHAT WE’RE AFTER:

• 2-3+ years’ experience in accounts.
• A proactive and enthusiastic approach to the role with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• MYOB experience (essential) and Console (desirable but not essential).
• Microsoft Excel (intermediate proficiency).
• A knowledge of trust accounting legislation is desirable.
• High level written and verbal communication skills.
• High level organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise and multi-task a high-volume workload.

• Permanent part-time position, paying $30-35 per hour depending on experience, plus super.
