InComPro provides a range of services including mentoring, supported accommodation, respite, tenancy support, as well as community and cultural engagement for people living with a disability or complex needs.
About the position:
The Finance Coordinator reports directly to the COO and is a key member of the InComPro Leadership Team. As a Coordinator within the organisation, you will have broad knowledge and skills in a range of financial duties, including financial reporting. You will lead financial accounting activities across the organisation and provide accurate and sound financial information to the COO and CEO. You will also ensure timely completion of financial tasks such as BAS and other statutory returns.
- Responsibilities include:
- Supervising a team of Finance Officers
- Overseeing all aspects of the year end process including FBT, RTWSA and acquittals on individual funding agreements
- Assisting in the merge of various accounting software
- Claiming entitlements from key external funding bodies
- Contributing to the development of annual budgets, planning and forecasting processes, including engagement with key stakeholders, reporting
- Identifying and reporting on financial risks and developing processes to mitigate such risks
- Statutory reporting, and compliance with tax obligations
- Liaising with external financial business advisors and auditors
You will become an integral part of decision-making processes and represent the finance function in all aspects of the business. As a key member of the Finance team, you will be expected to recommend improvements in effectiveness and efficiencies in systems and associated financial processes where required.
- To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Accounting Qualifications (or working towards)
- Previous experience in not-for-profit financial systems
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current DHS Working with Children Check
- Current Police Check
- Financial experience encompassing financial accounting, statutory reporting, forecasting, and planning, treasury and tax
- A proven track record in meeting deadlines and prioritising work commitments
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, both oral and written, with an ability to simplify technical accounting concepts
- Strong ability to build positive relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- The ability to exercise a high degree of initiative and discretion while maintaining an important and effective link to all areas of the organisation
- Proactive and positive mindset, with a “can do” attitude towards meeting key business deliverables
- Ability to work as part of a team in an environment that is subject to ongoing change.
- Demonstrated ability to uphold the principles of Cultural Safety including an ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Ideally, in addition to be above, we are looking for someone who may have the following:
- Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and is acknowledged as such by their community.
- Has experience in networking/liaising with Aboriginal Community Organisations, Government Departments and Non-Government organisations (NGO).
- Has an understanding and commitment to the principles of the Aboriginal NGO sector.
- Has an understanding of the issues impacting on people with a disability
Has experience with Xero and MYOB
