About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for a Finance & Cost Modelling Lead to join our central function based in Adelaide or Melbourne reporting to the Business Systems Manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
As the Finance & Cost Modelling Lead, you'll be at the forefront of shaping our financial landscape. Your mission is to maintain a robust cost model, collaborate closely with senior leadership to provide strategic insights on IT costs, and instil sound financial practices throughout the IT department. This role is pivotal in empowering the organization to make informed financial decisions, streamline IT expenditures, and align technology initiatives seamlessly with our overarching business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Model Stewardship:

• Develop and uphold a comprehensive IT cost model, encompassing hardware, software, personnel, and operational expenses.
• Continuously refine the cost model to reflect technological advancements, market dynamics, and organizational needs.

Strategic Engagement:

• Collaborate with senior leadership to offer valuable insights and recommendations on IT costs, supporting well-informed decision-making.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align IT initiatives with business goals and strategies.
• Lead the development of a continuous improvement plan and roadmap, driving people, processes and technologies.

Financial Best Practices:

• Embed and advocate for good financial practices throughout the IT department.
• Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and accurate financial reporting in collaboration with the finance department.

About YOU

• Demonstrated experience managing a cost model within a complex IT function
• Proven experience working with large budgets up to $100M
• Experience engaging and communicating with senior stakeholders up to the executive level
• Basic understanding of IT delivery and architecture
