This person will report directly into the Principal and will oversee the finances for the college. This will include but not be limited to monitoring income and expenditure, budgeting, forecasting and timely financial reporting. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial administration that includes the preparation of management accounts and department budgets, while supervising the preparation and audit of financial statements, student fees, conference revenue and receipts
- Provide timely strategic advice to the principal and leadership team on forecasting and budgets for the year ahead
- Lead 2 direct reports working across accounts payable and receivable, and payroll
- Manage projected cash flow and ensure compliance with all regulatory responsibilities, including payment of taxation, superannuation, and government liabilities
- Management reporting directly through to the relevant committees
- Manage the operational budget for the college and ensure any Capex projects remain in budget
- Identify areas for enhancement and strategically recommend solutions to streamline operations and maximise financial performance.
- A degree with substantial extension of the theories and principals of finance or postgraduate qualifications with experience in financial management and budgeting.
- Proven experience in managing budgets and forecasting effectively
- Demonstrated capability in financial reporting and provision of financial advice.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to effectively relate to people of varying levels of seniority and backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and manage financial compliance against policy.
- Possess leadership qualities, drive, enthusiasm, problem solving skills and initiative.
- Exceptional technical skills in financial and administration systems and reporting.
- Advanced computer skills in generally, particularly using Microsoft Excel Software including the design and auditing of advanced spreadsheet applications.
- Experienced in processing both fortnightly and monthly payroll
- Demonstrated ability to provide a high-quality service to clients and other key stakeholders both internal and external.
