Finance Manager

Kogan People Solutions, recruiters across Australia, are working with a leading independent charter and ACMI (wet / damp leasing) airline, proudly operating a fleet of BAe 146/ Avro RJ and Embraer airliners, amongst others. Recently the subject of a very satisfactory takeover, the airline staff (who number some 75), are excited about their future and the airline is now seeking a suitably skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join them, and their increasingly complex business, at Bankstown..

• Salary $150k to $170k plus superannuation

Reporting to local and offshore stakeholders, key role responsibilities will include

• Lead and manage the accounting team

• Manage the financial reporting for the group, including monthly financial reporting and all statutory financial reporting within tight deadlines.

• Ownership of monthly management reporting, including analysis of actuals, variances, risks and opportunities.

• Preparation of all periodic reporting, workpapers and reconciliations and ad-hoc analytics, reports and requests for informed decision making.

• Provide analysis to support pricing and costing decisions

• Financial reporting ownership in ERP finance systems.

• Actively manage and improve key monthly processes across the group, to deliver a high standard of financial data.

• Inventory management, stocktake oversight and inventory obsolescence review.

• Manage taxation function including liaison with service providers.

Skills and attributes we expect to see in applications:

• Possession of high quality Bachelors Degree or agreed alternative

• CPA/CA qualification, or progress towards

• At least 2 to 3, but preferably much more, years of professional experience

• Strong capability in financial management, including knowledge of AASB standards, tax compliance requirements, inventory control and management, robust governance frameworks and cost control.

• In-depth understanding of inventory-based business practices.

• Demonstrated leadership in managing finance functions and teams.

• Experience in leading change, improving processes and implementing new technology.

• Highly developed systems skills

• Experience in meeting statutory reporting deadlines and requirements.

• Aircraft industry experience is highly regarded but not essential.

• Unrestricted rights to work full time in Australia
