The Finance Manager, CMU is a key role in providing financial accounting support to the Commercial and Mixed Use segment which includes responsibility for the business unit's financial activities, reporting of monthly and half-yearly results and compliance with accounting standards.

In this role you will:
- Lead month-end close process which includes reporting and analysis of segment results and managing key deliverables such as elimination journals, balance sheet reconciliations, BAS, payroll journals and clearing of intercompany balances.
- Together with Financial Controller, Financial Accountant and offshore support team, manage and perform (half) year-end deliverables including delivery of audit program and responding to requests for information, completion of notes to financial statements, annual income tax returns and performing assessments for revenue recognition, inventory assessments and joint ventures.
- Support project accounting functions by providing technical accounting solutions as and when required and enhance system-based reporting for our Stakeholders.
- Involvement in capital partnering transactions to assess EBIT impacts from sell-down, including review of key documentation, and accurate recording of transactions to ensure compliance with Accounting Standards and Mirvac policies.
- Liaise with Management Analysis team to deliver commentaries for variances in monthly EBIT and cashflow results.
- Build understanding of segment activities to deliver accurate cashflow forecast to Group Treasury and FP&A, which contribute to supporting the Group's capital management strategies.
- Be responsible for submission of monthly BAS including responding to queries from Group Tax and contribute to the enhancement of system-based GST reporting to streamline BAS process.
- Financial management of the Waterloo JV, including reporting, equity, tax and accounting treatment, plus CoSec duties.
- Assist with the management of half-year and year-end activities including planning and the equitable allocation of responsibilities across Team to meet deliverables by performing financial close tasks (accruals, clearing journals, reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts), meeting Audit requests, preparing Inventory disclosures and performing assessments for revenue recognition, inventory and asset assessments and investments in JVA.
- Responsible for the preparation of the Annual Income Tax Return and preparation of supporting workpapers and checklists, and responding to queries from Group Tax.
- Meet deadlines and manage deliverables which includes review of payroll journals, FBT, interest capitalisation, elimination journals, balance sheet reconciliations and clearing of intercompany balances.
- Review agreements with capital partners to accurately record sell-down transactions and implement and document processes for the efficient operational management of transaction (such as reimbursement of capital, banking and system setup)
- To be successful you will have had previous exposure to an ASX listed property, construction, engineering or infrastructure company, whilst holding tertiary qualifications in accounting or finance and CPA/CA or equivalent. First movers will be considered.
- Demonstrated experience in Financial Accounting and Tax compliance is a must.
- Finally you will have great communication skills to manage stakeholders, and analytical and problem solving skills coupled with a passion to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
