THE OPPORTUNITY
Salary: $150,000 per annum pro rata + 11% super + annual leave loading (dependant on qualifications and experience).
Time Fraction: Full Time, 1.0 EFT.
Location: Chadstone campus.
WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check.
Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.
Position Status: Ongoing contract of employment, with a 6-month qualifying period.
The Chief Financial Officer portfolio is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Finance Manager to provide strategic leadership, and operational management of the Finance department and efficiently and effectively manage allocated human, physical and financial resources to ensure service standards are met.
In this position you will manage a high performing team responsible for processing and maintaining a high level of financial controls across all key financial and payroll functions and processes.
You will also be responsible for the Institute’s annual financial statement preparation, internal and external audit interface, compliance with relevant taxation requirements and banking and investment requirements in accordance with Institute policy and Executive and Board delegations.
The ideal candidate will have experience as a Finance Manager of a complex organisation including leading digital initiatives and system improvements. Experience in the education sector would be considered favourably.
ABOUT YOU
- Degree and post graduate qualifications in Business, Accounting or related field with extensive relevant industry experience. Certified Practicing Accountant or Chartered Accountant accreditation.
- Demonstrated understanding of automated financial and general ledger accounting systems. Familiarity with Technology One Finance Accounting software would be an advantage.
- Functional knowledge of automated payroll systems and/or data base management and functionality in a payroll environment.
- Senior management experience in the financial operations of a large, complex and diverse organisation.
- Project management experience to independently develop and implement a body of work against set deadlines, budgets and competing demands.
- Ability to provide authoritative and strategic advice and decisions based upon established financial practices, professional standards, policies and procedures.
- Excellent organisational and proven time management skills with the demonstrated ability to manage projects, deadlines, achieve goals and strategic objectives.
