Finance Manager

We seek an experienced leader with extensive financial experience and knowledge who understands and appreciates being actively involved with the operations of the business. The ideal candidate will have experience in a food manufacturing company, giving her/him a grounding in best-in-class finance and management processes and systems. 

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the creation and monitoring of budgets for Sales, Procurement, Logistics, and Production departments.
• Conduct monthly reviews comparing actual results against budgeted figures.
• Collaborate with department heads to analyse variances, identify trends, and make recommendations for adjustments as needed.
• Ensure that insurance coverage is adequate at all times
• Collaborate with external accountants to prepare financial statements and tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal tax regulations including payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG and GST.
• Generate monthly financial reports and conduct analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimisation.
• Provides 13-week weekly cashflow forecasts
• Ensure that all monthly balance sheet asset and liability balances are supported by proper reconciliations
• Provide strategic insights to management for financial planning.
   

Experience

• Minimum 10 years financial and/or operational management experience with at least 5 years at a senior financial level, preferably with some leadership experience in a mid-sized, privately held company. 
• Significant experience with finance functions; solid working knowledge of other business functions in food processing/manufacturing experience including a deep understanding of manufacturing cost accounting. 
• Experience recruiting and leading a financial team. 
• Management or understanding of IT functions; 
• Experience in finance, accounting, tax, financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, information technology, cash management, forecasting and preparation of related monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and statements. 
•  Experience managing the components of finance, accounting, treasury, and customer service. 
•  CPA or CA accreditation.
