The Role
As the Commercial Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing finance, contracts, and commercial matters to enhance reporting, support growth, and drive strategic decision-making. You will work closely with key stakeholders, including operations supervisors and administrative staff, to ensure financial structural improvement aligns with our company's goals and objectives.
Duties:
- Manage financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting and strategic decision-making.
- Oversee contract reviews, management and negotiations to optimise commercial outcomes and mitigate risks.
- Develop and implement financial processes and controls to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the administrative team, including accounts, payroll, and administration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and head office to identify revenue enhancement and cost optimization.
- Maintain relationships with clients, ranging from tier 1 to 3 contractors, to understand their needs.
- Coordinate with auditors to facilitate financial oversight and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage cash and payroll function.
The Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; finance qualification (e.g., CFA, CPA) preferred.
- 8 plus years of experience in financial management, preferably within a commercial or contracting environment.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, and contract management.
- Proficiency in financial software, preferably MYOB, and good Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven leadership experience and the ability to drive change and process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to work remotely and independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Office relocation experience is advantageous.
- Several trips to Melbourne Headquarters per year
