Finance Manager

Are you a finance professional seeking a rewarding role in a rapidly expanding company? Propel Marine, a fully integrated marine solutions provider based in Bibra Lake, is seeking a skilled Finance Manager to captain our financial journey and steer our financial operations on a global scale.

As the Finance Manager you will be responsible for proactively managing the day to day financial and accounting function of the business. You’ll have a lot of autonomy within the position and a real opportunity to make the role your own. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be supported and guided where necessary, however this role requires self-motivation and a proactive approach to seize opportunities and drive initiatives independently.

Some of the responsibilities of this role are:

• Manage Finance Teams based in Perth and India
• Manage payroll & payments locally and internationally
• Preparation of monthly reports including annual budgets and actuals, General Ledger reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
• Manage foreign exchange payments and basic bookkeeping for Directors Trust Accounts
• Preparation and lodgement of tax returns, BAS, Payroll Tax, FBT, GST and PAYG
• Managing international subsidiaries (with assistance) and ensuring compliance with accounting requirements
• Manage foreign exchange payments, assist with cashflow forecasting and reporting and review Company Insurances

Our ideal candidate is someone with an accounting qualification (CPA or CA qualified) with a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role. Company tax knowledge including GST, BAS returns and FBT is required, and previous experience within the shipping, marine or logistics industry is preferred. Most importantly though, you will have strong communication and problem solving skills with a can-do attitude!
