The Role

The Finance Manager will report to the Managing Director based in Melbourne with responsibility of working collaboratively with the leadership group.

Your role will be to support in the strategic objectives of the business by supporting their long-term objectives. In addition, you will be required to provide timely and accurate reports, audit processes and statutory reporting.

As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Oversee the existing team - manage 3 direct reports in accounting.
• Execute accurate reporting, enabling yourself to analyse options and make financial recommendations.
• Take responsibility for statutory accounting and compliance.
• Identify areas for financial/operational process improvement and implement key changes to improve efficiencies and accuracy.
• Provide oversight of the accounting team that are responsible for month-end accounting procedures for the account results, including P&L activity, balance sheet activity.
• Support management providing recommendations for improvements and actioning on team members development opportunities.

Your Profile

You will have an engaging and inquisitive nature that will lend itself to being able to understand the organisation, the nuances of each entity in the group and the dynamics of a complex team environment.

CA/CPA qualification is essential, as you are a detail orientated Accountant with the ability to communicate your work and findings effectively to a broad range of stakeholders.

The ability to effectively manage a team and ensure their work is completed efficiently and accurately.

Experience in the professional services sector is favourable but not essential - you are encouraged to apply if you feel you meet the key requirements of this role.
