Carnival Australia is excited to announce: We are hiring a Finance Manager - Voyage & Operational Accounting to join our Finance Team. This full time 8-month max-term contract position will be based in the Chatswood district of Sydney and report directly to the Financial Controller. Leading the Revenue Accounting team, this is not your traditional role and will be focused on operations including a strong focus on systems, processes, training, and support both onboard the P&O ships and shoreside. This role presents an opportunity for a Finance Manager to implement efficient processes for cash applications and voyage accounting that is compliant with Carnival's accounting policies and SOX requirements.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Lead and maintain effective voyage accounting with a robust internal control framework, offering insights and recommendations to enhance performance.
* Responsible for managing end-of-cruise accounting and cash applications.
* Collaborate directly with operations and ship-based personnel regularly to facilitate prompt and accurate data collection and comprehension of operational and financial connections.
* Ensure minimal Onboard Debts at EOC by working closely with Ship and Shoreside collections.
* Collaborate with Hotel Operations and ship-based staff to establish new onboard policies focusing on key risk areas, while considering both internal control issues and operational needs.
* Acquire and maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant onboard and financial systems, providing guidance to Shipboard staff regarding these systems.
* Generate regular cash flow forecasts in coordination with PCL treasury to uphold balances in line with corporate policy.
About You:
You possess a deep passion for the cruise industry and are excited about merging your love for cruising with your extensive accounting and leadership background. Your capacity for recognising trends, analysing big data, forecasting, providing recommendations, and proposing innovative solutions enables you to guide the business towards optimal commercial decisions. As a skilled people manager, you excel in leading and empowering your teams. Your effective communication skills and adeptness at nurturing relationships contribute to your reputation as a trustworthy business partner, valued by stakeholders for your expert advice and insights. Working within a tight-knit team, your outgoing nature and readiness to dive into tasks distinguish you from your competitors.
To be successful in the role, you will have demonstrated:
* 2 years' experience as a Finance Manager
* Mandatory requirement of 2 years' experience in balance sheet reconciliations.
* Proficient in accounting systems and processes.
* Excellent stakeholder and business partnering abilities for effective communication and management across all organizational levels.
* Advanced Excel skills including Vlookup, pivot tables, charts, and formulas.
* Strategic thinking and understanding of decision-making impact on operations.
* Demonstrated skills in people management and hands-on Leadership.
* Advantageous to be proactive, quick-thinking, and resourceful.
* Desirable to be CA/CPA certified.
