About the Role
We are seeking a Finance Officer to fill a full-time 2-year contract in our Finance team. The role will provide a great opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their finance skills as part of larger team.
The primary responsibility of the role is Accounts Payable which will include:
- Processing purchase orders
- Verifying purchase orders to supplier invoices and investigating discrepancies
- Reconciliations
- Preparation of supplier payment files
- Administration including responding to phone and email queries.
The Finance team at Carers ACT is very supportive and you will have the opportunity to learn new skills by assisting with other finance tasks from time-to-time.
About You:
You are someone who loves detail, is self-motivated and organised. In addition, you’ll have knowledge of basic accounting procedures, able to work independently, open to learning and have well developed communication skills.
Essential requirements:
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration and NDIS worker screening check (or ability to obtain)
- Current police check
- Up-to-date vaccination against COVID-19 (including booster)
- Previous experience in a similar role (minimum 1 year)
- Experience using Xero and ApprovalMax would be an advantage
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Outlook
- Well-developed communication, interpersonal skills and problem solving.
- Strong organisational and time management skills
