About the role
Are you ready to take the next step in your finance career?
We are seeking a diligent and detail oriented Finance Officer to join our team and play a pivotal role in contributing to our financial operations. As a Finance Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating various accounting functions including accounts payable, bank reconciliation, month-end preparation, and other general accounting tasks.
You will
- Manage the processing of invoices, including payment request forms, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures
- Validate invoices to ensure correct matching with appropriate purchase orders, accurate coding, and proper approval prior to payment, addressing any discrepancies or issues as necessary
- Address any supplier invoice issues promptly and effectively, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers while resolving payment related queries
- Process payments to all suppliers on a weekly basis via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or BPAY, ensuring timely and accurate payments
- Prepare Purchase Order (PO) summary reports and cost analysis reports as required, providing valuable insights into financial performance and expenditure
- Prepare daily bank reconciliation journals, and reconcile bank transactions with corresponding entries in the general ledger
- Assist in the preparation of month-end journals
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to verify the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions, identifying and
- resolving discrepancies as necessary
- Prepare monthly debtor and creditor aging reports to track outstanding receivables and payables, facilitating effective cash flow management
- Arrange travel bookings for employees across the organisation, including flights, accommodations, transportation, and other travel-related arrangements
Who we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 3-5 years’ experience working in accounting
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic
- Ability to work under pressure, meet strict financial deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Microsoft D365 and Basware software (desirable)
