Finance Officer

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Finance Officer to become a key member of their team for a 6 month contract, working 2 days per week from home (once you understand the role) with the other 3 days per week in the office in the Brisbane CBD.

The role

As a key member of the team responsible for supporting the day-to-day functions of financial operations your keyaccountabilties will be:

• Prepare and submit data uploads to ensure timely and effective invoicing to customers.
• Provide informative, timely and quality advice to customers including invoices and customer accounts.
• Assist with the preparation of reports, submissions, briefs and correspondence.
• Assist with financial monitoring services to ensure accuracy and timeliness in preparing financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Liaise and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support financial management initiatives.
• Contribute to the review, development and implementation of financial practices and procedures to ensure they meet departmental and service delivery requirements.
• Assist with financial helpdesk support and advice to frontline officers and staff to resolve issues.

The Skills and experience required

• Experience using applications, such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
• Relevant experience as a Finance Officer that has included experience with invoicing, customer queries and reporting.
• Knowledge and understanding of financial management practices and processes.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to stay focused on high-volume repetitive tasks.
• Ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferably some experience with SAP ECC for payment management and reporting, although not mandatory.
