An exciting opportunity exists for a Finance Officer to join the Southeast Regional Office Team of the Department of Education.
We are recruiting a motivated officer to join the team with a passion for supporting key stakeholders in all aspects of corporate services functions.

Your Role:
As the Finance Officer, Budget you will:
- Assist in budget preparation and provide analysis and advice in relation to strategic and operational issues impacting on the profiling and management of budgets and financial reporting in the region and schools.
- Provide high quality data extraction, spreadsheet creation, tabular and graphical representation and analysis of information from Agresso Smart Client, SAP and other departmental systems.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop, implement and maintain budget, financial and administrative reporting, procedures and practices that facilitate and contribute to improved resource allocation and financial management.
- Provide training to officers in the region in financial management and administrative policies, procedures and practices.
- Prepare and coordinate monthly business reports and analysis including financial, non-financial and performance information within agreed timeframes ensuring accurate and reliable information to stakeholders.
- Assist in end of month and financial year processes including preparing general ledger reconciliations for data integrity, accruals, prepayments and financial reporting.
- Prepare and maintain up-to-date procedure manuals, assist with identifying issues and opportunities, and promote continuous improvement of policy and procedures.
- Participate in finance related projects and ongoing support of systems, creating, interpreting and analysing financial data and performance.
