AIC Mines owns the Eloise Copper Mine located 65 km from Cloncurry, QLD. Eloise is an underground mine with conventional crush-grind-float processing to produce a high-quality copper-gold concentrate. AIC Mines has recently commenced an expansion of the Eloise operation following the acquisition of the nearby Jericho resource. The Company also owns a portfolio copper and gold exploration projects located across Australia.

About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Payroll and Finance Officer to oversee financial operations at Eloise Copper Mine. This role involves end-to-end accounting processes and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements. It presents an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals starting a career in mining.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage financial reporting for mining operations, including month-end processes, budgeting, payroll, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Handle payroll processes, including data entry, wage calculation, deductions, queries, and taxes.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes as required.
- Conduct financial account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Compile reports for tax, statutory accounts, management reporting, and payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Provide support for business analysis activities related to capital projects, contracts, procurement, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Assist in ad hoc projects and tasks assigned by senior staff.
About You:
- Tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce, or finance or equivalent experience.
- Previous internship or experience in accounting or finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Office applications, and ERP systems such as Pronto or SAP.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent team communication and interpersonal skills.
- Manual QLD driver’s license.
- Physically fit and able to pass a medical assessment and police clearance.
Additional Information:
The role follows a 4/3 FIFO roster from Townsville, with bus commuting options available for local candidates from Cloncurry and surrounding communities. Onsite accommodation and meals are provided at the Eloise Copper Mine.
