We are a not-for-profit membership-based union looking for a Finance Officer who will be a relevant member of the Finance Team, assisting the Financial Accountant in monitoring and accurately recording the financial transactions in a timely manner for an ASAP Start.
Casual/6-month contract for an immediate start with possible extension.

As the Finance Officer your area of responsibilities will be:
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Accounts payable administration and management including entering, processing, and payment of supplier invoices, sending remittance advice, statement reconciliations, and staff expense reimbursements.
- Accounts receivable administration and management including billing of invoices.
Month End Duties
- Payroll Deduction Listing Upload
- BPay Payments Upload
- Corporate Credit Card reconciliation
- End of month Journals
Compliance
- Taxation support
- Payroll support
- Legislative and statutory reporting support
- Management reporting support
About you
- At least two (2) years of experience in an Accounting/Finance role
- Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting (degree minimum)
- Knowledge and proficiency in XERO or similar accounting software
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in MS Office (MS Word, Excel)
- Understanding of accounting principles and attention to detail and accuracy when processing and recording transactions.
- Demonstrated initiative in resolving queries and willingness to assist
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, collaborative, and reliable
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous non-for-profit / Union working experience is highly desirable
