About this opportunity
Council has a new exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified candidate to join the Financial Management Team in the position of Finance Officer.
Reporting to the Coordinator Financial Management, the successful candidate will assist the team to carry out financial functions, compliance and reporting requirements of Council.
Additionally, you will also undertake the following
• Reconciling of general and subsidiary ledgers, processing journals as required.
• Tracking of grants received
• Reconciling Council's Trust Account
• Monitor and provide support with the bank reconciliation process
• Monitoring and reconciliation of purchase card transactions.
• Assist with maintenance of Fixed Asset Register including annual reconciliations.
• Assist with undertaking tasks associated with complying with FBT and GST legislative requirements.
About you
• Tertiary qualification in relevant field at Degree level or above;
• Membership with a relevant professional body or eligibility to obtain
• Demonstrated computer skills including the ability to operate software used within Council, especially Microsoft Office Software
• Ability to interpret and apply accounting standards, techniques, concepts and practices, particularly in the preparation and reporting of financial statements.
